About Freddie Baer

Fredrika “Freddie” Baer was an anarchist and collage artist, born in Chicago in 1952 and living most of her adult life in San Francisco.

Freddie Baer was best known for her collage work, which was widely published from the 1980s thru the 2010s in science fiction, anarchist, and other political magazines and books, and frequently printed as posters and/or silk-screened onto t-shirts.

After retiring in 2020, Freddie moved to Eureka, California, but maintained close ties to her San Francisco (and world) community. Freddie died on November 12, 2025, of pneumonia and complications of cancer.
