Jack Baer, cir. 1922 – 2007

Death Notice, Chicago Tribune, October 6-7, 2007:

Jack Baer, 85, passed away Oct. 3, 2007.

Jack proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1940-1945 in the European Theatre.

He was an expert fisherman, artist, card player and jack of all trades.

Jack was the son of the late Charles John Baer and the late Grace Broadwell.

He outlived his three wives, Elsie Lambert, Bette Dwyer and Eleanor Enblom; and his dear friend and companion, Betty Schiemann. Jack is survived by his children, Frederika “Freddie” Baer, Kristina Elizabeth (Michael) Baer-Holzer and three stepsons by Eleanor, Charles Enblom, Gary (Judy) Enblom and Alan Enblom. Special thanks and love goes to Nancy Enblom, wife of Charles. Jack was also a dear grandfather of Rachel K. “Putsy”.

Visitation will be held Monday, Oct. 8 from 11 a.m. until the time of Service at 1 p.m. at Olson Burke/Sullivan Funeral &Cremation Center, 6467-77 N. Northwest Hwy. (1 blk. N. of Devon), Chicago, IL 60631.

Memorial donations can be made to either Planned Parenthood or the USO.
