Ecstatic Incisions: The Collages of Freddie Baer

ISBN 1 873176 60 0

This is Freddie Baer’s first collection of collage work. Over the last decade her illustrations, ranging from the bitingly political to the sublimely surreal, have appeared on numerous magazine covers, t-shirts, posters, and album covers. This anthology draws from all her previously published pieces, new material, and her collaborations with Hakim Bey, T. Fulano, Jim Gilman, Jason Keehn, and David Watson.

“For every thousand idiots-with-scisorrs, there’s only one Freddie Baer.” Peter Lamborn Wilson, from his preface

Freddie Baer is a graphic artist and illustrator who currently resides in San Francisco. Her collage work has been featured in Semiotext(e): SF, Science Fiction Eye, Fifth Estate, Factsheet Five, Xerox Pirates, and Anarchy: A Journal of Desire Armed, amonst others.

Gallery of images — scanned from various sources, so quality varies. We are working on (1) high-resolution scans of all the originals and high-quality prints that we have, and (2) a PDF of Ecstatic Incisions. In the meantime, this provides some sense of the works included!
