To our knowledge, Freddie Baer typically retained copyright to the images she produced. She often published them in radical and open distribution contexts, with the aim of having them disseminated widely; some of these publications included explicit copyright statements, some of them disclaimed copyright altogether, many of them said nothing about copyright at all. Much of Freddie’s work was done long before Creative Commons licenses were available. We believe that open licensing under a CC-BY 4.0 license best captures the spirit of Freddie’s intents in creating work for wide dissemination.
